I first met Chris Lane in Minneapolis in the summer of 2017 when he opened for Florida Georgia Line at Target Field. I reached out to a new radio promo guy named John D’Amico at Big Loud Records to arrange a meet and greet before the show. I quickly sent my wife a text to let her know we had passes to meet Chris and included a link to his debut album on iTunes. I remember telling her to make sure and listen to “Circles,” “Let Me Love You,” and “For Her.” To be honest, I put “Circles” on repeat almost the entire drive from St. Cloud to Minneapolis (which is about a 90 min drive).
Fast forward to 2019, and I’ve had the pleasure of seeing him live in concert five times, and we’ve become fast friends. Chris doesn’t forget a face and makes you feel like you’re the only person in the room when you spend any amount of time with him (even if it’s just for a couple minutes). I’ve received calls in my office just to say thanks for the support, texts over the holidays, and replies on Twitter to my daughters video professing her love for his latest release. Chris Lane is a class act. He was raised right and truly counts his blessings for everything the good lord has bestowed on him over the last couple of years.
Chris had an amazing 2018 with his hit single “Take Back Home Girl” featuring Tori Kelly crossing 200 million streams and hitting the top 10 at country radio (his third consecutive top 10 single by the way). He finished the year selling out shows across the country and announcing headline dates and support shows with Dan + Shay in 2019. Pick up his sophomore release “Lapse Around The Sun” on iTunes.
Don’t miss one of my favorite people this Friday night (1/12) at the Cinch World’s Toughest Rodeo at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines. Chris hits the stage post rodeo. Tickets are available HERE.
