When it comes to holidays, Saturday Night Live always has something up their sleeve.

Their Christmas skits are the best. They even play a whole special showcasing the greatest ones every year!

But what about other holidays? What about Halloween?!?!

Don’t worry! SNL has you covered!!!

I think my favorite Halloween skit of all time has to be “Haunted Elevator” a.k.a. the one with David Pumpkins!

The first time I saw this, I wasn’t really sure what I watched. It’s so random and unexpected. But, that is what makes it so funny!

Dancing skeletons, quirky music and confused haunted elevator guests. What more could you want?

Plus, Tom Hanks is in it! Who doesn’t love Tom Hanks? He’s so well liked they let him play Mister Rogers! His quick performance here is so wild and random. But, you can tell he is having fun with it.

I need to get my hands on one of those pumpkin coats David has. Once I get done with this article, I’m heading over to Amazon!

This sketch even inspired an animated Halloween special! How many other sketches do you know that have done that?

If I ever came across David Pumpkins in a pumpkin patch or on a haunted elevator, I wouldn’t be scared or confused. I’d give him a hug! Hopefully someday that happens.

But for now, I’ll keep re-watching this sketch in October and whenever I feel a slight autumn chill in the air during September.

Someday, I hope we see Tom Hanks reprise this role in another sketch. Maybe even in a movie! (I know, that is very wishful thinking)
