Chris Janson’s latest record is a feel good anthem!

Chris Janson has quietly became one of my favorite artists in recent years.

It all started in 2015 when “Buy Me a Boat” made a huge splash onto the country charts. I fell in love with that song pretty quickly. I can’t get enough of country songs that seem serious at first but then have a funny twist to them. It felt like something Brad Paisley would write.

He tackles plenty of serious subject too. “Drunk Girl” is an underrated song with a great message. While “Holdin’ Her” is a love ballad that feels very straight from the heart.

His latest record is entitled “Real Friends,” and it is the best thing Janson has done yet.

“Good Vibes” was the first single released from the album. I honestly feel like that would’ve been a great title for the record too, because I felt nothing but happy while listening to it!

“Say About Me” is a rockin’ tune from the record I don’t see myself ever getting tired of. The song feels very personal to Janson’s life and career, almost like a mantra of some sorts.

I can’t get “Waitn’ on 5” out of my head. I’ve always pictured “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere” as the quintessential getting out of work jam. But this song gives Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffett a run for their money!

“Hawaii On Me” is another big favorite of mine from this release. It is one of the more somber songs on the otherwise fast paced album. The song is sang from Janson’s point of view as a husband and father. I love the beauty in it as he describes to his family what to do with the days after he is gone. Don’t cry, go enjoy something amazing this world has to offer. Isn’t that what we all want for our loved ones?

The greatness doesn’t stop at these songs. This record has a lot to offer. Including several tunes that just made me feel good. The title track even features Blake Shelton!

I truly think “Real Friends” is my favorite album of the year so far. Hopefully this record becomes a new classic and launches Janson’s career even further.
