If you are like me, you have waited years for a Zombieland sequel!

Well…it is finally happening! On Friday, the wait is over!

Zombieland came out in 2009…..who knew we would have to wait ten years for a second movie!

The follow-up was finally announced about a year ago, after years of teasing from cast members and others involved in the production of the first.

I even witnessed Woody Harrelson talk about it at a Q & A on Iowa State University’s campus a couple of years ago!

Another fun tidbit to add in, there was a failed TV spinoff! Mr. Sunday Movies just made a really great video about it!

The funny thing is, I’m not normally the biggest zombie movie guy. But, there’s something I’ve always liked about Zombieland.

The movie has this charm to it that doesn’t feel like it belongs in a zombie film.

On top of that, it has several quotable lines, many funny moments, and a subplot involving Twinkies that is comedy gold.

Since the release of the first Zombieland, Hostess, the company that makes Twinkies, has gone under and came back from the dead! How crazy and ironic is that?

If that weren’t all enough, Zombieland has a great cast.  The four leads have all been nominated for Academy Awards, including one win for Emma Stone! The trailers for the sequel have had tons of fun with this fact.

I have to be honest though, sequels that take a long time to make have disappointed me in the past. Let’s hope that trend doesn’t continue with Zombieland: Double Tap!
