2020 is the year to be a SpongeBob fan!

In May, the third SpongeBob SquarePants movie will be released!

But if that were not enough, this summer, SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated is coming out! It is a remake of the classic 2003 video game!

Remasters of old video games have been big in the industry lately. Video game icons like Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon have gotten the remaster treatment, and it’s came with a lot of success.

On the surface, remastering these games can sort of seem unoriginal. But I’d be lying if I said I didn’t like being able to play some of my favorite games from the past in a whole new light and on a new console. A lot of the games I grew up playing still remain among my favorites today. They are the kind of games I could replay until the end of time and never get tired of.

That’s why I’m excited for this SpongeBob game!  I’m so happy one of my favorite cartoon character’s best video games will be available to me and a whole bunch of potential new fans. The new game play looks amazing. I can tell that THQ Nordic wanted to give this game the updated treatment it deserves!
