Hi Everyone! Jacob Beals checking in here! Carly Pearce will be at Hoyt Sherman Place on Thursday November 4, so I thought it would be a perfect time to tell you about my favorite songs she has put out in her career thus far!
5. “Hide the Wine”- I’m not really a wine connoisseur, but man oh man is this song fun!!!
4. “Every Little Thing”- This was the song that introduced me to Carly, and it has been a favorite ever since! And what an introduction this was. A heartbreak song I’ll remember for a long time!!!
3. “Dear Miss Loretta”- I love songs that tribute the greats of country music. Our genre has such an amazing history, and singing about it just feels so right. This is a wonderful love letter to Loretta Lynn and her music. It’s honestly something I could see Lynn singing herself! Plus, Patty Loveless is featured on the song!! How about that for an awesome added bonus?
2. “I Hope You’re Happy Now”- Is there anything better than a great country duet? If there is, I haven’t found it! And this song just so happens to be one of my favorite duets! Pearce and Lee Brice’s voices combine together so well into something really powerful. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve listened to this song in the last couple years! It has been a constant on my playlist!
- “29”- The title track of her latest album, “29” is also my favorite song from Carly thus far! Sometimes in life, we all hit big slumps. I’m 26, and I see others that already own homes and have families who are are my age and younger. That can be discouraging, because it makes me feel like I’m are running behind. I think this song has a lot of those same feelings wrapped up into it. Setbacks in life can truly throw us for a loop. That’s why Carly’s latest record is so good though. Pearce has gone through a lot lately, and this beautiful album came from it all. For me, it’s definitely one I’m going to continually put on in the future when I’m going through something tough. “29: Written in Stone” is a nice reminder that there is always a light at the end of the dark tunnels we pass under.
A few years ago, I had the chance to meet Carly here at the station. For sure a moment I won’t forget! She is so cool, and I’m so glad to see her career continue to flourish!!
